Welcome Our Second Visiting Seminarian: Jesus Tovar!

Our second visiting seminarian has arrived!  Please welcome Jesus Tovar.  Jesus was born in Mexico but at a young age moved with his family to Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He is the oldest of five siblings.  As a child, he remembers that his favorite game was to get his little cousins and siblings play “Mass” with him.  His senior year of high school he was struggling to decide on his career path.  He is a talented flute player and thought about becoming a professional musician until he and his parents were invited to attend a private tour of the seminary.  During the tour, he instantly knew this was the path God wanted him to take.  He is also currently working on his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and wants to continue eventually to get his master's. Since he is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, his goal is to become a priest who serves a multicultural parish. He is currently reading “Liturgy and Personality” by Dietrich von Hildebrand. He describes himself as a deep thinker who likes to ponder big questions but who also has a voracious sweet tooth, especially for chocolate.
